Background
Valspar bv, formerly De Beer Lakfabrieken B.V. was founded in 1910 and has been manufacturing paints for motor vehicle repairs since 1951. In 1980, the present production site at Lelystad was opened and we now deliver to more that 100 countries worldwide from here. 1982 saw the launch of our colour mixing systems, followed by the first water-based products around the middle of the year 2000. Since 2004, the company has been part of the Valspar Corporation U.S.A. and this represents a major advance in terms of global coverage.
The Valspar Corporation, one of the largest paint manufacturers in the world, was founded in 1806 and is based in Minneapolis in the US. With over 9500 employees at more than 80 locations, Valspar is in the unique position of being able to satisfy the need for a wide selection of paints and coatings for many different applications.

Consistent quality of both products and working methods, combined with a responsible approach towards the environment, is guaranteed through the use of an integral "Health, Environment, Quality and Safety" system. This system is based on ISO 9001 (working processes) and ISO 14001 (environment) and is controlled and certificated by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance. From these certifications, awarded in 1996 and 1999, it is clear that our objectives include controlling and guaranteeing the highest quality standards on the one hand, and minimal environmental pollution on the other. - Efficiency

Training and support
Because a professional brand requires a professional approach, we have a team of experienced technical advisors. We offer a complete training programme in our Training and Information Centre (TIC) in Lelystad. Here, we teach customers from all over the world to process and apply our products properly. Moreover, our technical advisors visit our distributors and end-users anywhere in the world on site to give training and demonstrations. And our Customer Support department offers colour and technical information.
Location
In addition to the TIC, our head office as well as the central colour and product development laboratory are located in Lelystad. Our plant in Lelystad is also our main production and distribution location. We supply our products worldwide from this location, supported by a number of country sales offices.
